The case of the murderous squirrel!

You could say I am one with nature! animals love me! just like the late Steve Irwin, I really can communicate with animals. At the zoo, they are drawn to me. They will come near me or turn my way as though they are sending me messages. Ever since my mother, back in the early 1980's when traveling all over the united states, fed half her hot dog to a very exotic, very long necked, bird. I don't remember what state it was at the time, but i am sure it is recorded in my travel diaries. this unique bird was never the same again. It's probably still walking around with half a hot dog protruding from his tiny long neck. As I was saying, I have this god given gift with animals. except squirrels. I am convinced they are plotting to kill me. Every so often i have these terrible dreams that a squirrel jumps on me and i cant get it off. It bites me repeatedly in my dreams. I struggle furiously with the fury animal. What prompted these type of dreams is probably due to the fact that I chase them in my yard. I know they are hungry this time of year (fall), but do they have to eat the food i leave from my pigeons and birds! I thought they bury and eat nuts. What kind of diet made of bird seed is that for squirrels? I know they pick out the corn, but do they have to be hogs, for crying out loud! then, these rats with tails irritate my birds! they are mean and cruel! the birds swoop down to grab a few bites and the nasty squirrels wont let them! so, i chase them. the squirrels that is, not the birds. but oh, do they put up a fight! I swear they watch too many violent Disney movies! when i approach, they stand firm. they do not budge. not for a minute! their tiny, long nailed feet are plastered in a wide stance on the edge of the bird feeder. we are now eye to eye, starring each other down. looking for the first one to make a move. the fur ball is communicating with me. he is saying, "I'm your worst nightmare!". and you know what, he's right! I approach a few steps further. I can out run any squirrel no matter how many Nike's they own! I run, he runs, I chase, he runs. he stops. he turns around. I'm close. He says...."go ahead, make my day!". I chase. he turns around. now he's chasing me! i chase back. this varmet is not going to get the best of me! I know he wants to murder me cause now he has called in the gangster squirrels! but I am not scared! I am one with nature! I know my pigeon friends will save me! until the hawks come and kill the pigeons! yikes! oh well, just another day with nature!

Loving & Being in love..There is a difference!

Okay, all you love lorn ladies out there. Do you really know the difference between loving someone and really being in love? Madonna said it best in the song "Express Yourself"..."don't go for second best". mm? I guess I should have listened to Madonna! It's not that I am looking for Mr. Perfect, as you all know, there is no such thing. only men think there are perfect women and no matter how hard we try, we just cannot be perfect enough! am I right? so, back to my original question. There is nothing better for the mind body and soul than being madly in love with someone. What is that term? oh, yes, "soul mate". I, for one, had this experience just twice in my life. sadly, it is no longer in my life and neither are the two men. My current relationship went from 'like', to 'really like!', to I think !I'm in love! and then finally, back to 'like'. this is not a good sign! It should have gone something like this...."he's my soul mate!"...so this brings attention to the other side of the love spectrum. The guy is madly in love with us, but our feelings are not the same for him. Now what? how do you tell someone one you were never "In love" with them but just 'Loved" them. Are they going to understand what this means? men find it much easier than women to say "bye bye", "adios", "have a nice life". so why is it when a woman says these things, it just does not compute in the male brain? Its so much harder today in the dating world than it was for our parents. And as a woman ages, its inevitably harder! it's either divorced with kids and grand kids or widower with a nursing home waiting list in the drawer. so this is why we don't agree with Madonna after all...we have no choice but to settle for second best.!
